Press Release:

Anglian Home Improvements sponsorship Trailer Hits the Right Note

Eight singers from the world of pop will be attempting to transform their voices and master the art of opera in ITV’s ’Popstar to Operastar’ sponsored by Norwich based Anglian Home Improvements.

The show starts on Friday (15th January) on ITV1 but it is not only celebrities we should be looking out for as eight local people from Norfolk star in the sponsorship title which is aired before each programme and in-between all commercial breaks.

Hosted by Myleene Klass and Alan Titchmarsh the programme shows eight celebrities including Coronation Street star Kym Marsh and McFly singer Danny Jones preparing to sing their way into the nation’s hearts and transform from ‘Popstar to Operastar’.

In December Anglian Home Improvements set up an audition for local talent to sing in their own, unique ’operatic style’ for the sponsorship titles. The auditions which were held in Norwich over a two day period asked local singers to perform an ‘operatic’ song of their choice for the chance to be featured ahead of the programme in Anglian’s sponsorship title.

Eight local singers were selected; Shani Cantor, Glenn Bramley, Jessica Whyte, Harriet Birchall, Kellie Browne, Katie Hewson, Marion Jackson and Sian Abrahams.

Commenting on making the sponsorship trailer, Melanie Russell from Anglian Home Improvements said: "This is the first time Anglian has ventured into major programme sponsorship and we are delighted top be associated with ‘Popstar to Opera Star’. The home improvement industry is about making amazing transformations, and we look forward to seeing just that, as our Popstars set out on their 6 week journey improving their voices into something ‘transformational’.

“The carefully selected local singers, who feature in the sponsorship titles, had to be able to hold a tune, entertain and have a certain presence. We had great fun putting this together. Keep an eye out this Friday for some local faces as they will play a starring role themselves in what we hope will be a huge hit and a big success for ITV.”
