Anglian sponsored athlete makes history

Athlete Charlie Grice, sponsored by Anglian Home Improvement, made history at had Aviva London Gran Prix at Crystal Palace last week.

After being knocked out of the Junior World Championships in Barcelona in the qualifying heats Grice headed for London to compete at the Aviva London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace. Going up against a field of Olympians at the Emsley Carr Mile race, 18-year-old Charlie Grice posted a time of 3mins 57.9secs, making him the 3rd fastest sub-20 year old of all-time (the faster two being Steve Cram and Graham Williamson).

Although not quite qualifying for this year’s Olympics, Charlie beat several of the 2012 Olympic runners competing in the race. As a faster athlete than either Seb Coe and Steve Ovett were at his age Charlie Grice looks like he’s set for great things.
