Celebrities out in force for the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

(09th July 2013)

A host of well-known names gathered for the gala preview evening of this year’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, which officially opens today (9 July 2013).

At the Celebrity Speakers & Catwalk in Bloom Theatre, sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, there was a special appearance in the Catwalk in Bloom fashion show from TV actress, Sally Geeson.

Sally originally came to fame in Bless This House, a 1970’s TV home-based sitcom, in which she played the daughter of Sid James, before going on to star alongside him again in some of the Carry On films. She has recently become an ambassador for Anglian Home Improvements, starring in the company’s latest advertising campaign, having previously been a happy Anglian customer.

The Catwalk in Bloom fashion show will be running regularly throughout the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show at the Celebrity Speakers & Catwalk in Bloom Theatre. It features a series of horticultural inspired themes, including the 1940’s, A Day at the Races, Summer Holiday and Red Carpet Paparazzi.

TV gardener David Domoney, official host of the Celebrity Speakers & Catwalk in Bloom Theatre, said “Hampton Court Palace Flower Show celebrates all that’s in fashion with plants but plants have an important influence on fashion too – not only in the pattern of the fabrics but also with the cotton that comes from plants. Hampton is full of plants and energy, and there are lots of hints and tips you can pick up while you’re there. Make sure you pop by and see us at the Celebrity Speakers & Catwalk in Bloom Theatre.”

Anglian is showcasing its elegant new timber orangery at the show, located on stand DD1 at the entrance to the Celebrity Speakers & Catwalk in Bloom Theatre. Personalities appearing in the Theatre over the course of the show (9-14 July) include John Craven, Kate Humble, Tim Wonnacott, Linda Barker, Bill Oddie and David Domoney, who will each host sessions talking about their love of the outdoors and their own gardens.

Between the fashion shows and celebrity speakers, you can watch Anglian Ambassadors David Domoney and Sally Geeson chat about their plans for the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show on the TV screens inside the orangery.
