Anglian Home Improvements unveiled as first TPS Assured company

(31st October 2013)

The UK’s leading home improvements company, Anglian Home Improvements, has been unveiled as the first company to receive ‘TPS Assured’ certification at the launch of the new scheme.

The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) launched TPS Assured on 31 October as part of its mandate to ensure that all organisations and call centres have access to expert advice and guidance on the rules and regulations governing telemarketing. TPS Assured is an annual audit and certification service operated by TPS that will assess whether an organisation complies with PECR regulations, Ofcom guidance and TPS Assured’s industry best practice guidelines when interacting with UK consumers.

Anglian Home Improvements’ Marketing Director, Martin Troughton, explains, “As one of the leading telemarketing companies in the country, Anglian Home Improvements is happy to be at the forefront of this initiative, working closely with the Direct Marketing Association and TPS Assured to drive up standards across the industry.

“Tighter regulation and higher standards are essential in order to ensure customer confidence in the TPS scheme. We would encourage all businesses involved in telemarketing to sign up and go through the process. By completing the pilot scheme we were able to identify a small glitch in our telemarketing system, which we have since been able to correct. We now know that we are now 100 per cent compliant with TPS Assured’s rigorous standards, which gives us confidence that we are contacting people who are happy to receive calls, as well as removing the risk of being penalised and maximising our resources from a commercial point of view.”

“At Anglian, we are great believers in raising the standards in every aspect of our work and, as such, we are delighted to champion TPS Assured, which ties in well with our company ethos and core business values. We are committed to following best practice, making sure whatever we do is right for the consumer, right for the brand and right for the business.”

Commenting on Anglian Home Improvements’ successful completion of the TPS Assured accreditation scheme, John Mitchison, head of the Telephone Preference Service said, “We are pleased that Anglian Home Improvements has become the first company to gain the TPS Assured accreditation. The TPS Assured scheme will help to restore confidence in telemarketing by helping businesses, consumers and regulators to clearly identify those companies that operate on the right side of the law.

“Anglian Home Improvements is a good example for other companies, leading the way by demonstrating that it abides by UK legislation and telemarketing industry best practice. We encourage consumers to only deal with companies that can prove they meet the TPS Assured standard.”

Established in 1966, Anglian Home Improvements is the UK’s biggest double glazing window, door and conservatory specialist. With almost 50 years’ experience of providing uPVC double-glazing windows, Anglian ensures it is ahead of the competition with a continuing research and development programme, as well as a commitment to best practice and driving up industry standards.
